The Max messenger, developed by VK, is preparing for a major update. According to the Minister of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, a full set of functions for creating and managing channels will appear in the application in the fall of 2025. This includes advanced moderation, analytics, and monetization tools, which will make the platform more attractive to content creators.
According to data from RIA Novosti, the government is considering granting Max the status of a national messenger. The head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Sergei Boyarsky, noted that the platform meets key requirements: security, independence from foreign services, and support for domestic developers.
The technical side of the update has not yet been fully disclosed, but experts suggest integration with the VK ecosystem (for example, VK Video and VK Music) for convenient placement of multimedia content.
