The acceptance of the new dual-system electric train "Finist" of the ES105 series has been completed at the "Ural Locomotives" plant.
The commission, which included representatives of Russian Railways, specialized institutes, suppliers, and the Ural University of Railway Transport, confirmed that the train meets all technical requirements. The electric train was assigned the designation O1, and a pilot batch of 60 trains was determined. Certification for mass production is expected in July.
The ES105 tests were conducted from November 2024 to April 2025. Two five-car trains participated in the tests, which allowed testing the operation of the trains in a coupled mode. Research and development work on the project has also been completed.
The ES105 became a development of the "Finist" platform and is designed for operation on both DC and AC lines. It will replace the ES1 and ES1P ("Lastochka") models previously produced jointly with Siemens. The new train accommodates 386 passengers, and the number of seats for people with limited mobility has been increased. According to Russian Railways, the purchase of electric trains is included in the carrier's plans.
