Russian "Strategists" Tu-95MS, Tu-160 and Tu-22M3 Will Be "Hidden" in Hangars: No Grounds for Returning to Arms Reduction Treaty with the US

The Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that the treaty completes its life cycle in eight months

There are currently no grounds for a full-fledged return to the Treaty on the Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START). This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Ryabkov.

According to him, such a scenario is becoming less and less realistic.

Given that the treaty completes its life cycle in approximately eight months, the conversation about the realism of such a scenario is increasingly losing its meaning.

Analysts from the "Military Review" publication explained why the strategic aviation of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia is not located in concrete shelters at military airfields, butis based in the open air. The Russian Federation and the United States extended the START Treaty until February 6, 2026, despite the fact that its control mechanisms are effectively frozen.

One of the key elements of the treaty is ensuring transparency. Strategic bombers must be located in open parking areas so that their condition and quantity can be verified through inspections and satellite reconnaissance. This rule is designed to reduce the risks of distrust and prevent unexpected escalation.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the military came up with a way to make ammunition for UAVs from an anti-tank mine.
