First new Tu-214 aircraft sent for final assembly at Kazan Aviation Plant

Work on the aircraft began in 2019

The first new Tu-214 aircraft was delivered to the final assembly shop at the Kazan Aviation Plant (part of the Tupolev company of the United Aircraft Corporation).

The transfer of the aircraft with registration RA-64535 took place without any publicity, which, apparently, is due to the specifics of the customer — the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, which needed a corporate aircraft. Work on this aircraft began in 2019, without an order. UAC allowed Tupolev to take out a loan to purchase metal — so that the airframe would be ready when any contract appears.

Initially, it was planned to deliver RA-64535 in 2023, however, this could not be done. The reason is unknown. This aircraft is the last Tu-214 with foreign purchased products, next should be machines only with domestic components.

According to the source, this is the aircraft with registration RA-64536, which was recently moved to the aggregate final assembly shop (AOS). Tupolev also does not comment on this information.

Earlier www1.ru reported that assembly of MS-21 fuselage sections was completed in Irkutsk.
