The Uralvagonzavod concern (part of the Rostec State Corporation) announced a public vote for a new name for the tank support fighting vehicle (BMPT) "Terminator". You can share your version of the new name for the combat vehicle with the developers until July 1.
Guided by these considerations, we decided to collect proposals from all over the country and submit them to a public vote. Until July 1, 2025, we are waiting for options from everyone at terminator.net@uvz.ru!
The company emphasized that the best name options will be submitted to a public vote in the Telegram channel of Uralvagonzavod. They did not rule out that if the population wants to keep the name "Terminator", they will treat this decision with understanding.
The name "Terminator" does not quite correspond to the spirit of this machine. It is more often called simply BMPT. Frankly, it is inappropriate to compare a human robot from the famous Hollywood science fiction movie with this machine and its capabilities on the modern battlefield. BMPT is not fiction, but reality.
The voting results will be announced at the "Army-2025" forum, which will be held from August 11 to 14 in Kubinka near Moscow.
