The Navoi Free Economic Zone in Uzbekistan and the Russian First Experimental Design Bureau (First EDB) have signed an agreement on the production of the Russian ultra-light aircraft SP-30 in the republic.
The parties agreed to locate the production of manned and heavy unmanned aerial vehicles of the SP-30 project in Uzbekistan.
It is planned to produce up to 100 aircraft per year. The project cost is 30 million dollars, and production will begin in October 2025. The aircraft are planned to be sold both in Uzbekistan and in foreign markets.
In Soviet Uzbekistan, there was a large aircraft manufacturing facility, TAPOiCH, which produced Il-76 aircraft, but it was destroyed after the republic gained independence.
The SP-30 is an ultra-light two-seater aircraft produced in several modifications, allowing it to be used in agriculture, sports, and tourism. Currently, about 250 aircraft have been produced in Russia.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the "inner world" of the PD-14 aircraft engine was shown in detail for the first time: the temperature is like on Venus.
