The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (TsNIITOCHMASH JSC, part of the Kalashnikov Group) will increase the production volumes of Olymp-BI rimfire rifle cartridges of 5.6 mm (.22LR) caliber in June due to the growing need for them. Currently, the company has delivered another batch of ammunition to the customer.
Olymp-BI cartridges are used in biathlon competitions and are designed for shooting from short-barreled rifles of the BI-6, BI-7 families manufactured by Kalashnikov.
A feature of the cartridges is a brass case, which guarantees a tight fit to the chamber surface and is characterized by increased durability and strength. Olymp rifle cartridges are distinguished by stable accuracy, high precision, power and low recoil. Due to the careful manufacturing of the case and the precision weighing of the powder, the rupture of the case is prevented, and thanks to the use of a high-quality primer, misfires are excluded.
