"Kalashnikov" to Increase Production of Powerful High-Precision "Olimp-BI" Cartridges

A feature of the 5.6 mm cartridges is the brass case

The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (JSC "TsNIITOCHMASH", part of the "Kalashnikov" concern) will increase the production volumes of Olimp-BI rimfire rifle cartridges of 5.6 mm (.22LR) caliber in June due to the growing need for them. Currently, the company has delivered another batch of ammunition to the customer.

"Olimp-BI" cartridges are used in biathlon competitions and are designed for shooting from short-barreled rifles of the BI-6, BI-7 families manufactured by "Kalashnikov".

A feature of the cartridges is a brass case, which guarantees a tight fit to the surface of the chamber and is characterized by increased durability and strength. "Olimp" rifle cartridges are distinguished by stable accuracy, high precision, power and low recoil. Due to the careful manufacturing of the case and the precision weighing of the powder, the rupture of the case is prevented, and thanks to the use of a high-quality primer, misfires are excluded.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the latest 9M134 "Bulat" missile will increase the ATGM ammunition load by four times.
