Caution, fake: fraudsters are sending out letters about "water outage schedule"

Links in messages lead to phishing sites that steal personal and banking data

Fraudsters have started sending out fake emails to Russians offering to check the hot water outage schedule in their building, with the aim of stealing personal data. This was announced by Sergey Kolunov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

The links contained in such letters lead to phishing sites that steal users' personal and banking data. The highest activity of such mailings occurs between May and August, when planned hot water outages actually take place in most regions.

You should check the outage schedule exclusively through official sources — websites and social networks of management companies, local administrations, as well as through information stands in entrances and on entrance doors. In addition, the current schedule can be found on the public services portal.
