The crew of the new SJ-100 aircraft with Russian systems, during tests in Zhukovsky, evaluated the integrated control system (ICS) in the backup direct control mode (Direct Mode). The ICS was developed by specialists from the KRET concern (part of Rostec).
The aircraft demonstrated good stability and handling characteristics in direct control mode throughout the allowed range of speeds and flight modes, including approach and landing.
The crew also checked a new function of the integrated control system — return to the main control mode (Normal Mode) from the backup control mode (Direct Mode) when temporarily lost external signals are restored.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that work on the "Baikal" aircraft has reached a dead end: it will never see the light of day.
