Su-35S and MiG-31 fighters proposed to be equipped with powerful radars: the era of AWACS aircraft is over

Aircraft need a separate encrypted communication channel with the ground

The era of airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft, such as the Il-76MD-90A, is gradually coming to an end. Su-35S and MiG-31 fighters are capable of successfully coping with these tasks thanks to airborne radar stations, according to a former military pilot, author of the Fighterbomber Telegram channel.

According to him, the first thing to do is to create a reliable encrypted data transmission channel that connects aircraft to the ground with minimal ping.

It is necessary, finally, to connect airplanes and helicopters into a network so that each aircraft can see everything that any aircraft in the air sees, and help each other with fire and interference.

The military pilot also suggested adding a pair of Su-34s with the correct reconnaissance containers to the Su-35.

The era of large aircraft on the battlefield is slowly coming to an end. The world has long said goodbye to battleships. Now their fate is repeated by aviation.
