In 2025, Russia's oldest passenger ship, the paddle steamer "N. V. Gogol", will begin its 114th navigation. On Saturday, May 31, the ship will embark on a two-hour journey along the Northern Dvina River along the banks of Arkhangelsk.
The ship was built in 1911 at the Sormovo shipyard, now known as the Krasnoye Sormovo plant of the USC, in Nizhny Novgorod.
Since 1972, the ship "N. V. Gogol" has been under the management of the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center of the United Shipbuilding Corporation. Thanks to this, it continues to function as an excursion ship, despite its venerable age.
The last navigation for "N. V. Gogol" set a record. There were more people willing to ride the oldest operating steamer than ever before. The ship made many voyages.
In four months, 118 tourist and excursion trips took place along the Northern Dvina, with the participation of more than 12,000 people. This indicates a growing demand for river cruises on the old steamer.
