Experienced Superjet 100 aircraft will soon begin test flights in conditions of abnormal heat on the Arabian Peninsula and critically low temperatures in Yakutia, the Rostec press service reported.
The Superjet has to undergo heat tests on the Arabian Peninsula, as well as flights in Yakutia at critically low temperatures. All this is necessary to confirm the safety of the aircraft even when operating in extreme conditions.
The United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec announced the day before that the first Superjet 100 aircraft, which took to the sky with domestic PD-8 engines, completed a flight during which a new mode of the Russian power plant was tested.
During the flight, the aircraft reached maximum angles of attack — the angle between the wing chord and the oncoming airflow vector — 25 degrees and a minimum speed of 183.348 km/h, or 99 knots.
About the Superjet SJ-100 aircraft
SJ-100 is a narrow-body short-haul aircraft, a new version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 with maximum import substitution of components. The project was initiated after the introduction of sanctions against Russia.
