The first flight of a prototype unmanned transport system for off-airfield basing (UTS-VAB) with a C-76 vertical take-off and landing aircraft is scheduled for the end of 2026, and mass production of the drone will start in 2028. This was announced by Evgeny Rubtsov, chief designer of the drone at the Sukhoi Design Bureau of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
"If we talk about plans for the coming year, it is to raise the first prototype in the form in which it will be certified. Closer to the end of 2026, we should already see the flights of the first prototype. In mid-2028, the C-76 should enter the market and become available to a wide range of consumers.
Earlier, UAC showed a full-fledged flight model of the C-76 drone, which has already passed the first stage of flight experiments to test vertical take-off, hovering and landing modes.
The C-76 project will allow the deployment of automated unmanned transport systems in Russia, thanks to which it will be possible to carry out air cargo transportation with minimal human participation and much more economically.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Rostec showed a detailed video of the Superjet flight with PD-8 at an extreme speed.
