"Avtotor" ceases production of trucks, focusing on the production of internal combustion engines and gearboxes

The company plans to reduce dependence on imported components

The Kaliningrad holding "Avtotor" announced its intention to stop the production of trucks and reorient its capacities to deepen the localization of passenger cars. This was announced by the company's Vice President Vladimir Krivchenko.

According to him, the released resources will be directed to the development of the production of internal combustion engines (ICE), gearboxes and cylinder block casting. This decision will not only increase the degree of production localization, but also reduce dependence on imported components.

Krivchenko did not specify the exact timing of the closure of truck assembly and the launch of new production facilities, but the transition to new areas of production has already been outlined.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the former Bosch auto component plant was restarted in the Samara region.
