During the test flights, the stable operation of all domestic systems was confirmed. The machine demonstrated stability in the air and good controllability, Rostec noted.

Today, we witnessed a historic event — the first flight of a completely domestic SJ-100 aircraft. I am confident that this will be an important step towards strengthening the technological independence of our country and will make a significant contribution to the development of domestic aircraft construction.
Vadim Badeha, General Director of UAC

Badeha noted that the import-substituted version of the aircraft is being created in an extremely short time. By the end of this year, the corporation plans to complete certification tests in order to begin deliveries to airlines from 2026.

The flight duration was about 40 minutes, it took place at speeds up to 500 km/h and altitudes up to 3,000 meters. The aircraft was piloted by a crew consisting of the commander, Honored Test Pilot Sergei Zavalkin, the second pilot, 1st class test pilot Alexander Verkhov, and the leading flight test engineer Maxim Gryukanov.

During the first flight, the crew checked the operation of control systems, air conditioning, hydraulics, as well as flight and navigation equipment in the speed range from minimum to maximum for this flight. In addition, the gas-dynamic stability of the PD-8 engines was checked. Landing gear retraction and extension were performed during the flight.
