Позывные «Ленинград» и «Сталинград» для аэропортов вернутся на День Победы

In honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory, these call signs will be used at the airports of St. Petersburg and Volgograd from May 8 to 10

In honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, from May 8 to May 10, 2025, the historical call signs "Leningrad" and "Stalingrad" will be temporarily used in radio communications between pilots and air traffic controllers at the airports of St. Petersburg and Volgograd.

The decision was made by the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia (Rosaviatsiya) as part of the preparation for the celebration of Victory Day.

During this period, the controllers of Pulkovo Airport (St. Petersburg) will use the call signs "Leningrad-Approach" and "Leningrad-Control", and the controllers of Gumrak Airport (Volgograd) will use "Stalingrad-Approach" and "Stalingrad-Control".

Pilots approaching these airports will also use the corresponding historical names when communicating with controllers.
