Footage of Geran strike kamikaze drones on a launcher in the back of a KamAZ truck has appeared online. UAV crews took part in the rehearsal of the Victory Parade in Alabino near Moscow.
Geran drones weigh about 200 kg and are capable of flying about a thousand kilometers; they have become the main tool for striking important military facilities.
Drones are guided to the target by signals from satellites. Russian engineers are also experimenting with connecting to cellular networks and guidance systems for data transmission and flight correction.
New batches of drones are equipped with the jam-resistant, advanced Kometa guidance system. The same equipment is installed on Russian gliding aerial bombs.
