One click and goodbye pension: Russians are sent fake letters on behalf of "Gosuslugi"

The messages contain a fake support number from scammers and a link to a clone site that steals data

Russians have started receiving fake letters allegedly from the "Gosuslugi" portal with warnings about attempts to log into their account from other devices.

The mailing claims that a login from a new device has been recorded in the account. However, what immediately attracts attention is that the name "Gosuslugi" is written with an error — separately, as "Gos uslugi". The letter also contains a recommendation to check security settings and "urgently contact" the support service. The message contains a fake phone number.

Such messages are sent by scammers in order to extract personal data from citizens or gain access to their accounts.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development warned that if fraudulent activities are suspected, access to key sections of "Gosuslugi", including information about taxes, pensions and benefits, may be temporarily blocked for up to 72 hours.
