A Step into the Future of Aircraft Engineering: UEC Talks About Russia's Unique Development in Engine Creation

The corporation called the creation of digital twins of aircraft engines the future of the industry

The Russian AI-222-25 turbojet engine for Yak-130 training aircraft is manufactured at the Salyut Moscow production complex. Specialists have completed the development of a digital twin of the power unit, which will become the future for the aircraft industry, the United Engine Corporation (UEC) reported.

To create a digital twin, specialists digitized thousands of parts and developed complex computer models of the engine's gas generator — thermomechanical, hydraulic, and gas-dynamic.

Thanks to this, engineers have the opportunity to start and test the engine not only on the test bench but also in a digital environment.

Mathematical modeling allows reducing the time and material costs for engine modernization and the creation of its modifications. Digital twins are the future of engine building!

At the same time, it is possible to measure, control, and change operating parameters, immediately check any deviations in the design, aerodynamics, and changes in strength on the twin.

Earlier www1.ru reported that in Russia it was proposed to deploy laser systems to protect against UAVs.
