Footage has emerged online showing a flight of multirole Su-30SM2 fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces patrolling one of the missile- / drone- and aircraft-hazardous operational directions. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that domestic winged combat vehicles have begun to be equipped with high-energy passive phased array "Irbis-E" radars.
According to him, the lead aircraft in the flight has a combined suspension configuration adapted both to anti-radar tasks and to the use of R-37M missiles with an interception radius of 150-270 km, depending on the launch echelon.
These two-seat aircraft received high-energy "Irbis-E" passive phased array radars with a target detection range of the F-16AM type against the background of the earth's surface of about 250-270 km, and against the background of open airspace - up to 400 km.
The analyst added that technically, the crews of the Su-30SM2 are also capable of providing targeting data to the S-400 and S-350A anti-aircraft systems for low-altitude enemy cruise missiles.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the innovative Trident of Retribution drone fighter with tentacles was first captured on video.
