Rostec has developed a unique landing system for airplanes and helicopters

It allows for a highly accurate approach even in poor visibility conditions

The Rostec State Corporation has developed the latest information landing system (ILS), with which helicopters and light aircraft can land on unprepared sites even in difficult weather conditions. The equipment will be presented at the XXVIII Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies "Archimedes", which will be held from March 18 to 20.

The developers have already conducted laboratory and bench tests and flight testing of the system. More than 100 experimental flights have been performed with the participation of small aircraft.

The tests confirmed the high operational and accuracy characteristics of the equipment. Flight and ground tests of the system are ongoing.

The system consists of ground and airborne equipment units. It allows for a highly accurate approach even in poor visibility conditions, as well as to unprepared airfields, such as a drifting ice floe.

Earlier www1.ru reported that ODK will retain control of the enterprise developing the PD-14 engine for the MS-21 airliner.
