China Failed to Copy Russian Aircraft Engines: Overheating Protection Technology Remained Classified

Sohu: Russia is in no hurry to share its developments

Chinese engineers would like to know the design of Russian aircraft engines in order to reproduce them in their homeland. However, Russia has protected the mechanisms of power plants from copying, leading the masters of the Celestial Empire into a dead end, according to Sohu.

Despite significant successes in technological development, China still faces serious challenges in the field of aircraft engine construction. Journalists noted that China is still dependent on Russian aircraft engines, especially in military aviation.

One of the key problems facing China is the creation of materials capable of withstanding extreme temperatures inside the engine, while keeping the outside of the unit relatively cool.

Russia possesses such technologies, but is in no hurry to share them, fearing copying and leakage of secret developments. Chinese engineers are trying to solve this problem on their own, but so far without significant success.

This is due to the fact that the development of modern aircraft engines requires the highest level of materials, technology and experience, which have been accumulated over decades.

Earlier www1.ru reported that ODK will retain control of the enterprise developing the PD-14 engine for the MS-21 aircraft.
