The latest fifth-generation multirole fighter Su-57 turned out to be the only combat aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) capable of operating directly in the engagement zone of air defense systems (SAM). This was announced by the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Vadim Badeha.
It enters the air defense engagement zone, can launch a missile before it is detected, and leave the engagement zone.
The Telegram channel "Military Informant" noted that it is not necessary for fighter aircraft to be completely invisible to radar systems.
Sometimes it is enough to be less noticeable so that at the operating range of weapon employment, the enemy's detection assets simply cannot guarantee detection and acquisition as a target.
Badeha also noted that the Su-57 is the only fifth-generation aircraft equipped with a supersonic low-observable adjustable air intake, which provides the world's best supersonic range, flight duration, and supersonic maneuverability characteristics.
