Engineers from SKB-2 (part of the Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant military-industrial holding, KMZ) have designed the ShE-30 electric mooring capstan. The device is designed for picking, holding, and paying out the mooring rope during vessel mooring. This was reported by the holding's press service.
The capstan is manufactured in the climatic version OM-1 (moderately cold marine), its degree of protection complies with GOST 14254-2015 and the IP56 standard.
Features of the ShE-30 capstan:
- Maximum traction force on the warping head — 45 kN
- Mooring rope retrieval speed — 36 m/min
- Application with synthetic ropes with a diameter of up to 36 mm
Mooring capstan — a mechanism with its own drive, having a warping head (designed for traction operations with ropes for various purposes) with a vertical axis of rotation.
