Engineers from SKB-2 (part of the Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant, KMZ, military-industrial holding) have designed the ShE-30 electric mooring capstan. The device is designed for picking up, holding, and paying out mooring ropes during vessel mooring. This was reported by the holding's press service.
The capstan is manufactured in the OM-1 climatic version (moderately cold marine), its degree of protection complies with GOST 14254-2015 and the IP56 standard.
Features of the ShE-30 Capstan:
- Maximum traction force on the warping drum — 45 kN
- Mooring rope retrieval speed — 36 m/min
- Use with synthetic ropes up to 36 mm in diameter
A mooring capstan — a mechanism with its own drive, having a warping drum (designed for traction operations with ropes for various purposes) with a vertical axis of rotation.
