Scientists from Tomsk State University (TSU) are working on a new device for collecting fuel oil in the Black Sea. A prototype is planned to be created within a month.
The device will help divers collect fuel oil from the bottom faster and more efficiently. Specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Marine Rescue Service are participating in the development, sharing their experience and advice.
The main task in cleaning the Black Sea is to remove fuel oil from the bottom. As the temperature rises, the fuel oil becomes more mobile, making it harder to collect manually. The new device will have a manipulator that will simplify the work of divers underwater.
The technology is called "Aeroshchup." Its testing was carried out in Anapa. The prototype of the device can lift more than a ton of fuel oil per hour. As the water temperature rises, the efficiency of the device will increase.
The "Aeroshchup" technology is the only one in Russia that has received environmental approval and is authorized for use throughout the country. It allows water to be cleaned without excavation or chemicals.
