Footage has emerged online of an MQ-9A Reaper reconnaissance drone being intercepted by a Russian Su-35S fighter crew. The photos were published by the Telegram channel Fighterbomber.
The encounter between the aircraft occurred in neutral airspace over the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
The images show that the Su-35S has R-77-1 long-range guided missiles, as well as R-74M short- and medium-range missiles, on its suspension units.
The Su-35 (NATO codification: Flanker-E+) is a multirole, super-maneuverable fighter with thrust vectoring, belonging to the 4++ generation. In the Russian Aerospace Forces, it carries the index Su-35S.
The combat aircraft has the ability to use the entire range of existing and future air-to-air and air-to-surface aviation weapons, including high-precision ones.
