First Tu-214 Series Aircraft Takes to the Skies for the First Time in Three and a Half Years

The new Tu-214 aircraft with registration number RA-64535 made a flight from Kazan to Minsk for painting. This was reported by the bmpd blog.

The aircraft was built as a VIP lounge for the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and it became the first Tu-214 to be raised into the air in three and a half years.

In total, to date, the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ) has built 35 Tu-214 aircraft, and the total number of Tu-204/Tu-214 family aircraft built in the USSR and Russia since 1989, together with prototypes, amounted to 91 units.

Earlier www1.ru reported that KAZ had signed contracts for the supply of 23 Tu-214 passenger aircraft.
