The new airport in Irkutsk will be built on the "Klyuchevaya" site, which is located near the village of the same name, between Angarsk and Shelekhov. According to the Governor of the Irkutsk Region, Igor Kobzev, the location for the construction was agreed with Rosaviatsiya. The next step is to develop the legal and financial model of the airport.
Today, we can safely say that a decision has been reached on the construction site. The "Klyuchevaya" site between Angarsk and Shelekhov will become the site for the new airport.
Earlier www1.ru reported that in 2026 construction of an airport at the Sheregesh ski resort will begin. Various factors were taken into account during the development of the project: the seismic activity of the region, the mountainous landscape, the thickness of the snow cover, and hydrogeological conditions. All this makes the project technically complex and requires the search for original design solutions.
