Sukhumi Airport Equipped with ILS 2700 Aircraft Landing System

Equipment Successfully Passed Tests

The Azimuth company (part of the Rostec Group) has equipped the airport in Sukhumi with an ILS 2700 instrument landing system, the state corporation's press service reported.

The ILS 2700 system transmits information to the aircraft about the distance to the runway, as well as deviations from the course and glide path during approach. The equipment has successfully passed acceptance tests and flight checks. Local failures do not affect the operation of the complex.

Airport specialists can remotely control ILS 2700 ground-based radio beacons and diagnose them from an automated workstation. All equipment has a reserve, the components of which automatically replace those that have failed.

ILS 2700 has already been implemented in airports in Russia, Belarus, Armenia and Kazakhstan, and is actively used in cities such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Anapa, Orsk, Orenburg, Stavropol and others. This demonstrates the reliability and efficiency of the system, which makes it an important step in the development of the region's aviation infrastructure.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Sukhumi airport received its first passenger airliner.
