Footage has gone viral on the Web of the remote-controlled Tarik robot, which destroyed a stronghold with Shmel flamethrower rounds. This is the first use of such ammunition from a ground platform.
The combat operation was captured by a reconnaissance drone. The footage shows a small robot driving up to a stronghold and covering it with fiery whirlwinds.
In terms of firepower, the Shmel is comparable to 152 mm artillery. At the same time, the flamethrower weighs only 11 kg and fits easily behind an infantryman's back, with an effective firing range of 600 m.
