При производстве новейшего газотурбинного двигателя АЛ-41СТ-25 задействовали VR-технологии

UEC Specialists Will Be Able to See What Cannot Be Seen During a Regular Assessment of the Power Unit

Specialists from the Ufa Engine-Building Production Association (UMPO, part of the United Engine Corporation) have used virtual reality technologies in the production of the latest AL-41ST-25 gas turbine engine.

Thanks to the VR headset, engineers can see what is impossible to do with a normal inspection — each part separately, in the assembly, and the assembled engine.

This makes it much more interesting and easier to understand the design and principle of operation of such a complex product as an engine. It also greatly helps in assimilating the material and turns the exam into a fascinating and enjoyable activity.

In the future, this is how specialists will be trained for operating companies that will carry out maintenance of the AL-41ST-25.

The calculated efficiency of the AL-41ST-25 is 39.1% with the possibility of a phased increase to 40%. The calculated efficiency of analogues does not exceed 38.5%. The engine meets Russian and international environmental standards and will operate for at least 120 thousand hours. Its projected lifespan will increase to 150 thousand hours.
