Russian T-72B3M and T-90M tanks are serially equipped with Arena-M active protection systems (APS). This was reported by a representative of the Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) concern (part of Rostec).
Previously, factory equipping of the T-72B3 with this type of protection was not reported. Only in the fall of 2023, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation patented a T-72B3 tank sample with the Arena-M APS installed on it.
Prior to this, the High-Precision Systems holding noted that the Arena-M as part of the T-72 tank confirmed its effectiveness during tests with both Russian anti-tank missile systems and foreign trophy systems.
The system is designed to protect against anti-tank grenades and anti-tank guided missiles. The Arena-M includes a radar station with high noise immunity, and uses narrowly focused protective ammunition with high speed and placed around the perimeter of the tank turret in special mounting shafts for targeted destruction of projectiles.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec showed all domestic engines for advanced helicopters and airplanes.
