Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) has refuted media reports about plans to discontinue the production of the SGR family commercial vehicle, known as the UAZ-452 "Loaf".
"The 'Loaf,' of course, is far from young, but its era is not over yet."
The current "Loaf" is a modernized version of the UAZ-452, which began production in 1966. The 452, in turn, is unified in many body elements with the UAZ-450 of the 1958 model.
In its basic configuration, the car is equipped with a ZMZ-40911 gasoline engine with 2.7 liters and 112 hp. The power unit is combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and a plug-in all-wheel drive, and there is a downshift gear.
In the near future, the legendary model will undergo re-certification and receive a new Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS). According to the plans, the document will record an engine of the "Euro-5" environmental class, with a power of 112.2 hp and 213 Nm of torque. This is 15 Nm more than the previous version of the "Euro-2" engine, which will make the model not only more environmentally friendly, but also more productive.
