The first domestic engine VK-650V for light helicopters Ka-226T and "Ansat" received a type certificate

The certificate awarding ceremony took place at the "ODK-Klimov" enterprise in St. Petersburg

The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of the Rostec State Corporation) has received a type certificate for the VK-650V aircraft engine for light helicopters. The awarding ceremony took place at the "ODK-Klimov" enterprise in St. Petersburg.

Power plants of this class have not been previously produced in Russia. The engine is ready for mass production and can be operated as part of promising domestic and foreign light-class aircraft - with a take-off weight of up to 4 tons.

An aircraft engine is the most complex part of an aircraft. The development and certification of the VK-650V were carried out in record time – in just 5 years. The need for such power plants is very high with the introduction of sanctions and the departure of foreign suppliers. Today we can state that our engine builders have coped with this difficult task. Along with new engines for heavy and medium-sized machines, there is now its own domestic engine for light helicopters in the line. That is, the sanctions could not destroy "Ansat" and our other promising programs.
Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec

VK-650V is the first domestic engine for light helicopters Ka-226T and "Ansat". It is also used in other promising domestic developments, for example, in a hybrid power plant (HPP), which will be used for drones and air taxis.
