Roscosmos Shows Image of Los Angeles Fire from the "Resource-P" Satellite

The Earth remote sensing satellite transmitted an image of the fires that engulfed Los Angeles

Roscosmos has published an image from the Russian Earth remote sensing satellite "Resource-P", which captures smoke from large-scale forest fires that engulfed Los Angeles. The shooting was carried out as part of the monitoring of natural disasters.

Forest fires began to spread in Los Angeles County on January 7. Meteorologists attribute the rapid spread of the fire to dry and windy weather.

According to the latest data from the California Fire Department, the area of fires in the district has reached almost 15.5 thousand hectares. The fire destroyed more than 12.3 thousand buildings, including real estate of celebrities in prestigious areas of Los Angeles.

On Friday, the Russian satellite "Meteor-M" No. 2-4 captured fires that engulfed the southwestern part of the United States and Mexico.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Roscosmos published photographs of the fires in Los Angeles taken by cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov from the ISS. They show the fire-covered areas on the west coast of the United States at night.
