The orbit of the International Space Station (ISS) has been corrected as part of preparations for the change of crews on the Soyuz MS manned spacecraft, Roscosmos reported.
The altitude of the ISS orbit has been corrected. We continue to prepare for the launch of the new Soyuz MS-27 manned spacecraft and the landing of Soyuz MS-26
According to preliminary data, the average altitude of the station's orbit increased by 3.2 km and now amounts to 416.71 km above the Earth's surface. The maneuver was performed using the engines of the Progress MS-28 cargo ship. The engines were activated at 20:45 Moscow time and operated for 1,155 seconds.
Currently, cosmonauts Ivan Wagner, Alexey Ovchinin, and Alexander Gorbunov, as well as NASA astronauts Donald Pettit and Nick Hague, are working on board the ISS. Their crewmates are astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams, who arrived as part of the first manned mission of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
