The Interuniversity Student Engineering and Technological Corporation (MSITC) operating at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University has developed a new all-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle. It was named "Mongoose".
The engineers took the axles from the all-wheel drive version of "Sobol", the body frame was welded from round steel pipes. The suspensions are original, spring-loaded. The vehicle's tests have already started.
A wide platform can be seen in the buggy's body. If the all-terrain vehicle is used for military purposes, it can be used to install a turret for a machine gun or an anti-tank complex.
The creators of "Mongoose" emphasize that their creation combines the best qualities of an SUV and comfort. To achieve this goal, they used automotive components from domestic manufacturers and the latest engineering solutions.
Its key feature is a unique suspension with a long travel and a high-tech load-bearing system of its own design, which makes the "Mongoose" an indispensable companion when driving off-road.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian anti-aircraft gunners had developed the latest buggies with a turret to cover heavy equipment based on the domestic Niva SUV.
