The «VCM-Steel» plant (part of the «RM Rail» wagon-building company) will expand the production of medium and small wagon castings. This was reported by the company's press service.
«VCM-Steel» plans to increase its foundry capacity. As part of the project, a new precision casting shop will be built, the existing equipment of the foundry shop will be modernized, and a production technology using an automatic coreless line will be mastered.
Equipment is currently being installed, and about 80% of the work has been completed. The launch of production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
Currently, the annual output of castings at «VCM-Steel» is 55 thousand tons. The plant covers 20% of the country's needs for railway castings.
Earlier www1.ru reported that «RM Rail» may release more than 12.5 thousand freight cars by the end of the year.
