President Vladimir Putin signed a federal law that provides for an increase in fines for a number of violations of traffic rules (SDA). The changes will take effect on January 1, 2025.
According to the new law, fines for the following violations will increase:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or refusing to undergo a medical examination — up to 45 thousand rubles.
- Speeding — up to 7.5 thousand rubles.
- Driving into the oncoming lane — up to 7.5 thousand rubles.
- Running a red light or a prohibiting gesture of a traffic controller — up to 1.5 thousand rubles.
- Driving into the oncoming lane when bypassing an obstacle — from 1500 to 2250 rubles.
- Violation of the rules for the location of a vehicle on the roadway and oncoming traffic, driving on the side of the road — up to 2250 rubles.
- Failure to comply with the requirements of road signs or markings — up to 750 rubles.
- Driving on a lane for public transport vehicles — up to 2250 rubles.
- Violation of traffic rules, resulting in minor harm to the health of the victim — from 3750 to 7500 rubles.
- Repeated driving of a vehicle without an OSAGO policy — 5000 rubles.
In addition, from 2025, the amount of the discount on fines for some violations will change: it will be 25%, and the fine can be paid within 20 days from the date of the decision.
