Kuvaldin: New engines will improve the efficiency of long-range aviation aircraft

New engines have been developed for long-range aviation aircraft of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia as part of the modernization program, which will double the combat effectiveness of aviation complexes. This was announced by the commander of long-range aviation, Major General Sergei Kuvaldin.

According to him, active work is currently underway to develop and implement new aircraft engines. Experts believe that the modernization will increase the combat effectiveness of operated aviation complexes by 2-2.5 times while significantly reducing the cost of their operation.

Kuvaldin added that the supply of aviation equipment to combat units is carried out in accordance with the approved schedule. In particular, in 2025, long-range aviation will also receive new aircraft.

The long-range aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces is armed with Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic missile carriers, as well as Tu-22M3 long-range bombers and tanker aircraft.
