To stop massive tank breakthroughs on the front line, the Russian military needs to use airborne radar reconnaissance assets. This was stated by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the primary task in this is the timely disclosure of the deployment of enemy units into offensive formations at an operational depth of more than 50 km. Currently, the key role in performing this task is played by operators of S350M Supercam and ZALA 421-16E HD UAVs.
But it would not hurt to supplement these UAV outfits with at least one strategic radar reconnaissance aircraft Tu-214R with a multi-band AESA radar MRK-411, or a squadron of Su-34M, equipped with containerized radar reconnaissance systems "Sych".
