The capacity of the Sevmash plant, Russia's largest shipyard, allows the construction of ships of any class, including aircraft carriers. This was stated by the company's CEO Mikhail Budnichenko.
The construction of a future aircraft carrier with a displacement of about 100 thousand tons is currently being worked out, he noted.
The design capacity of the enterprise was initially designed to create ships of various classes and purposes. This is confirmed by the first state order of Sevmash, the plant was to build the largest ship in the world - the battleship \"Soviet Belarus\".
Budnichenko noted that when the company began building third-generation SSBNs, the plant was reconstructed and the capacity was increased many times over. Now the company is actively modernizing within the framework of the state target program - promising ships.
