Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the development of a satellite group during the Direct Line, which will provide Internet access to remote areas of Russia.

During the "Year-End Review" program, radio journalist "Purga" Anastasia Lavrentieva addressed the President. She said that in Chukotka, Internet access is only available in the capital, and the rest of the region's residents do not have access to "Gosuslugi" and other services that a person can receive via the Internet.

Putin recalled that the country has a program for the development of high-speed Internet and communications. As part of it, a group of communication satellites is being created. According to him, work is underway in this direction and the corresponding resources have been allocated.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, speaking at the final meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Digital Development, said that the main task of the ministry in the next few years will be the development of a low-orbit group. It will consist of 300 devices and should provide fast and cheap Internet by 2027, including on trains.
