The ammunition of 122-mm D-30 howitzers and 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery units on the front lines has begun to be replenished with new OF56IM-1 high-explosive fragmentation shells.
The radius of action has increased by 4 km, from 15.3 km to 19.3 km.
Now the D-30 and Gvozdika crews are capable of conducting counter-battery operations against American 105-mm M109A3 towed howitzers at distances of more than 15.5 km, whose M913 RAP rocket-assisted projectiles have a range of 19 km.
