The two BDKs of the improved Project 11711M "Vladimir Andreev" and "Vasily Trushin" will have increased landing capacity and displacement.

The other two ships of Project 11711, "Petr Morgunov" and "Ivan Gren", are currently serving in the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.

The second pair of BDKs of Project 11711, "Vasily Trushin" and "Vladimir Andreev", were laid down in April 2019. They are expected to join the Pacific Fleet.

The BDKs will be armed with two 30-mm six-barreled AK-630 artillery systems and one twin AK-630M-2. A Ka-29 transport and combat helicopter or a Ka-27 search and rescue helicopter is based on the deck.
