Назван главный недостаток новейшей САУ «Мальва»: дальность поражения осталась невысокой

Firing range of the "Krasnopol-D" projectile is only 43 km

Combat units of the Russian army have already received serial models of the highly mobile newest self-propelled artillery gun 2S43 "Malva" in the standard modification. But the system has certain disadvantages, noted military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

According to him, the disadvantage remains the use of a 152-mm rifled gun 2A64 with a length of 47 calibers, similar to the self-propelled gun "Msta-S/SM", the muzzle energy and ballistic qualities of which ensure the use of rocket-assisted projectiles at a distance of 29 km, and "Krasnopol-D" - no more than 43 km.

A much more appropriate solution for sufficient effectiveness in counter-battery duels with long-range self-propelled guns CEASAR, PzH-2000 and "Archer" would be to equip the "Malva" self-propelled gun with 2A88 guns with a length of 52 calibers.

At the same time, the main advantage of the gun is the presence of a digital high-performance automated fire control system. It provides lightning-fast deployment of the complex without lengthy topographic referencing and loading of target coordinates received from external intelligence sources into the fire control system.
