«МегаФон» ускорил интернет в Серпухове — самом большом наукограде России

Internet speed in the region increased by 43%

MegaFon has accelerated mobile Internet in the city of Serpukhov and its surroundings, including Protvino and Pushchino, which are now united into the country's largest science city. The new and upgraded network of mobile base stations will allow almost 200 thousand residents of the region to receive a stable signal and use high-speed mobile Internet at speeds up to 50 Mbps.

The network upgrade concerns both large cities of the district and small settlements, such as Obolensk and Shchebolovo. As a result of improved coverage and the introduction of technologies such as LTE‑1800 and MIMO 2×2, residents and tourists will be able to use the Internet in residential areas and popular recreation areas with higher speeds and a stable connection.

Special attention was paid to cottage villages, such as Pavlovka, where Internet is now available at speeds up to 70 Mbps. This is especially important for residents of the metropolitan region, including Serpukhov residents, who regularly come to rest.

The speed of the Internet in Serpukhov and its surroundings has become an important part of the development of the city's scientific potential. Serpukhov became a science city in the summer of 2024, and since then the volume of traffic consumed has increased significantly - the growth was 43% since the beginning of the year.
