В НИИТО разработали устройство для точечной биопсии

It minimizes trauma to surrounding tissues during the procedure

A Russian analogue of a device for targeted biopsy, which minimizes trauma to surrounding tissues, has been created at the Ya. L. Tsivyan Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (NIITO) in Novosibirsk.

The development received a registration certificate for trephine biopsy of the distal joints of the foot. They are small, so when specialists perform a biopsy, it is important to avoid damage to the surrounding tissues.

The device allows for targeted biopsy without excessive trauma, at the angle and in the volume that is necessary.
Scientific Secretary of NIITO Anastasia Ivanova

She also told reporters that in 2024, the institute is working in five areas of state assignments. These include additive technologies. As part of this work, scientists have learned to fill bone defects in patients with large acetabular injuries. It is possible to restore the supporting ability of the limb in just 1.5 - 2 months.

In 2025, the institute will expand research on patients with scoliosis. It is planned to develop a mathematical model. With its help, the effectiveness of surgical treatment of patients with degenerative lumbar stenosis will be assessed.
