Таганский суд Москвы наложил новый штраф на Telegram за нарушение законодательства

The new fine amounts to 4 million rubles

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow has once again fined the Telegram messenger 4 million rubles for violating the requirements of Russian legislation regarding the removal of prohibited information. The decision was made under Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, which concerns the failure of a website owner to remove information that is required to be removed by law.

Previously, Telegram has repeatedly been subjected to similar fines. For example, in October 2024, the company was fined for failing to remove channels that violated Russian law. In August of this year, the messenger also received a fine of 4 million rubles for a similar violation. This time, the specific reason was not specified.

Since February 2021, Roskomnadzor has been actively using administrative protocols against social networks and messengers that do not comply with the requirements for removing prohibited content. Restrictions include calls for participation in unauthorized actions, publications addressed to minors, and other information prohibited by Russian law.
