The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia is starting to introduce domestic tablets with the Astra Linux operating system as part of an import substitution strategy aimed at strengthening digital sovereignty.
Russian-made Yadro Kvadra_T tablets with Astra Linux Mobile OS have become the main mobile devices for the ministry's executives. The company emphasized that the choice in favor of Astra Linux was made because this operating system is compatible with the software used on the desktop version of Astra Linux, which facilitates system administration and updates.
This step is also accompanied by the ministry's employees switching to Russian operating systems and technologies. The migration of workplaces to Astra Linux OS has already been completed, as well as the transition to the ALD Pro directory service instead of MS Active Directory.
The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development noted that the transition to Russian technologies contributes to reliable data protection and ensuring the continuity of business processes, which is a key aspect for the effective operation of the department.
